Reflection

1. I am very happy to learn English. I am very excited when learning English. I am very interested in learning anything related to English. I like listening, reading, speaking, and also writing.

Here I will share my interest in writing. Honestly, among all courses, I like writing the most. My interests in learning English are : First, writing is a way to express my feelings. Second, I can share my experiences through writing. Third, I think through writing, I can write things that are on my mind. I like to share what is on my mind through writing. Besides, I also have to learn grammar before writing. Because, grammar is very necessary in writing. So, in my opinion, writing also can improve my grammar skills. I also like writing materials in this semester. All tasks are fun and not too difficult. All of the tasks helped me improve my writing skills.

2. In my opinion, Project Based Learning, is a learning method that uses projects / activities as media. Students carry out exploration, and seek information to produce various forms of learning outcomes. Project based learning is a student-centered learning model for deep learning of a topic.

In Project Based Learning, students must be active and creative working on the project given by the lecturer. In my opinion, this method is very effective for students to understand the material. All projects given by lecturers on this semester make me understand all the material. Because, I immediately practice myself working on all my projects. All tasks must be uploaded to the blog, and students must give feedback to other students. In my opinion, this method is also effective in correcting the mistakes I made on the project that I worked on.

I think that Project Based Learning really helped me improve my English skills, especially writing skills.

3. I got many writing assignments from my lecturer in semester one. I think all the tasks are fun and not boring because I immediately practice making a project. All my tasks are done well, because I am excited about working on the project. All of these projects really helped improve my English skills, especially writing. In my opinion, there are 3 writing projects that I like. The first project I like  is chatting with foreigner . This project is very fun, I really like it. Because, chatting with foreign people makes me more fluent in writing and chatting using English. Thanks to the project, I got a lot of friends  from abroad. They are from England, America, Pakistan and India. Even now I still often chat with my friends from abroad through the Kik application. Chatting with foreigners is very fun.

The second project I like is writing formal e-mail. I like it because I have to find various information about international events. I am looking for interesting events and of course events that I can follow. I chose scholarship. I got a lot of information about scholarships, scholarships and student exchanges. Besides getting a lot of information, the benefits that I get are that I can write formal e-mail. Previously I had never written a formal email in English. It was the first time I wrote a formal email in English. It's really fun. Besides that, the thing that made me happy was that the scholarship committee replied to my email quickly and clearly. I feel happy and flattered.

The third project I like is writing a diary. I'm really excited about working on this one project. I really like writing diaries. Because writing a diary can reveal everything I feel. I write diaries very often, but use Indonesian. Through the project I learned to write diary using English. In writing diary using English, in my opinion the most important thing is tenses. Because the events that I told in the diary is not only the events that are currently happening, but past events. So, I think the project of writing this diary also made me understand more about tenses.

4. In working on all projects given by my lecturer in semester one, of course there are various challenges that I found.

The first, in a chatting with foreigner project , the challenge is, at first I was very difficult to find chat friends. Because I have never had a friend from abroad. I always try to find friends chat through Instagram, but many do not answer my chat. Even if someone answers, our chat is like an interview. Because I kept asking, then he answered, and so on. So it's not like chatting with friends. After a long search through Instagram, I finally found an application chatting with foreigners and I got a lot of friends.

Secondly, I found a challenge in sending a postcard project . The challenge is, It's very difficult to get an address of my friend's house that I will send a postcard. Many of my foreign friends don't want to give me their addresses. Because maybe they still think I'm a stranger. Luckily, in the end there was one of my friends who wanted to give me his address. I was very happy.

Third, I got a challenge in the Grammar Nazi project. I must looking for grammatical mistakes on social media or we usually call Grammar Nazi. After my lecturer gave me the project, I immediately opened all my social media and searched for my friend who wrote the caption or status using English. I'm looking for their mistakes. But I did not find it. I open all my social media every day and look for grammatical errors that are on social media, but I did not find it. I was very annoyed because before when there was no assignment as grammar nazi, I often found grammatical errors on social media. But, when there was a task like this I didn't even find it. I was very upset at that time. At the end, towards the deadline, I found many grammar errors on social media. I was so happy.

5. I think Ms. Devi is good and maximal in facilitating the project based learning process. Giving material through be smart is a practical way of providing material. I think giving material through be smart is an effective and flexible way. Through be smart, all students can access the material every time and everywhere easily. The address of the student blog is also uploaded to be smart. This makes it easier for students to open other student blogs.

In project based learning, Ms. Devi asks students to work on projects through blogs. I think this is a fun and not boring way. It's fun because my blog is useful. I can also share the goodness through my writing.

Before giving the assignment, Ms. Devi always explained clearly about the assignment given. Then, the next week while in class, Ms Devi opened several student blogs and discussed what we had uploaded to the blog. Ms. Devi gives feedback to students. This made me understand the material better and knew where I was wrong.

I think the thing that needs to be improved is that Ms Devi should upload material to be smart more often. So that students can have instructions when confused with working on the project

6. My overall impression in working on project based learning is that I feel happy with all the projects. I am always passionate about working on all projects because the project is fun, not too difficult, and not boring. All projects must be uploaded on my personal blog, and that makes me even more excited, because my blog is useful. So, I think project based learning is the most effective and fun way.

In my opinion, through project based learning my English language skills were increasing, especially writing. I became more accustomed to writing using English. I think I want to continue recording my own portfolio in the future. I want to continue writing on my blog, because being able to share via writing is fun, and certainly can improve my ability to write using English. Not only writing on my blog, maybe also on social media like Instagram, line, and WA.
