LINGUISTIC POLITENESS IN DIFFERENT CULTURES Mufidah Nur Izzati mufidahnur.2018@student.uny.ac.id Introduction Cross-cultural communication is communication between two people from different cultural backgrounds. This includes not only international cultural communication, but also communication between different races or ethnicities in the same country. Here we are mainly talking about verbal communication between different ethnic groups. In cross-cultural communication, cultural differences have an important role in the act of speaking and in scientific disciplines in the use of speech. In addition, people tend to use their own cultural principles as a standard to explain and evaluate the behavior of others. This is called "pragmatic transfer" (He, 2000, p.98). Because of this, misunderstandings occur easily and communication across cultures is hampered.

My First Online Shop

My First Online Shop               My first online shop was so memorable.  There are a lot of things I did to prepare my first online shop.  The first thing I did was create an Instagram account. I named my online shop with the name "hepiciti". Hepiciti is an online shop that sells hoop art for wall decor that customers can request pictures, sizes and colors according to their preferences. The second thing I did was promotion. I made several product samples, then I uploaded to the Instagram account. I uploaded repeatedly and I added the hashtag so people could see it. The third thing I did was making a hoop art for my first customer. She ordered a hoop art with a picture of a woman carrying a balloon with the words "happy birthday", then I sent it via JNE. My first customer really likes my product.

Writing a paragraph

Goodbye Smelly Shoes              There are three ways to remove unpleasant odors in shoes. The first way is using baking soda. Pour a little baking soda powder in your smelly shoes. Leave the shoes overnight, and dispose of the baking powder powder the next day. The smell will disappear! The second way is using a tea bag. This method can kill bacteria that cause unpleasant odors. Use a tea bag that has been brewed and put it in your shoes for one to two hours. Dry your shoes afterwards and the smell will disappear. The third way is using ground coffee. Take an unused sock and fill it with ground coffee, tie it, then place it in your shoes. Leave them overnight and the coffee powder can absorb the unpleasant odor from your shoes! Apparently keeping our shoes fragrant doesn't need to bother anyway. Just do the methods above, and your feet will smell good e...
