Goodbye Smelly Shoes There are three ways to remove unpleasant odors in shoes. The first way is using baking soda. Pour a little baking soda powder in your smelly shoes. Leave the shoes overnight, and dispose of the baking powder powder the next day. The smell will disappear! The second way is using a tea bag. This method can kill bacteria that cause unpleasant odors. Use a tea bag that has been brewed and put it in your shoes for one to two hours. Dry your shoes afterwards and the smell will disappear. The third way is using ground coffee. Take an unused sock and fill it with ground coffee, tie it, then place it in your shoes. Leave them overnight and the coffee powder can absorb the unpleasant odor from your shoes! Apparently keeping our shoes fragrant doesn't need to bother anyway. Just do the methods above, and your feet will smell good e...

LINGUISTIC POLITENESS IN DIFFERENT CULTURES Mufidah Nur Izzati mufidahnur.2018@student.uny.ac.id Introduction Cross-cultural communication is communication between two people from different cultural backgrounds. This includes not only international cultural communication, but also communication between different races or ethnicities in the same country. Here we are mainly talking about verbal communication between different ethnic groups. In cross-cultural communication, cultural differences have an important role in the act of speaking and in scientific disciplines in the use of speech. In addition, people tend to use their own cultural principles as a standard to explain and evaluate the behavior of others. This is called "pragmatic transfer" (He, 2000, p.98). Because of this, misunderstandings occur easily and communication across cultures is hampered.
